It’s been seven years since Taokan has successfully established itself in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. A remarkable success, doubled over the past three years with a second location on the Rive Droite. Tell me which of the two addresses you prefer, I’ll tell you who you are…
The owner of the premises, Christophe Daine, for his part, does not decide. One cannot prefer one or the other of his children… To tell the truth, the places are similar, mixing the elegant sobriety of the decoration designed by Hélène and Olivier Lempereur with the refined cuisine of the chef Au Tien Dat, who works in complete transparency with fresh and high-quality products. The fish (salmon and sea bass, steamed or pan-fried) are delivered whole. The Taokan spirit is concentrated in the balance between the Cantonese tradition and the more creative search for a claimed modernity. Specialities of the house: Dim Sum, with original foie gras and cocoa dumplings. In addition to the classic stir-fried noodles or rice, eggplant, broccoli, green beans or spinach with an original touch are also served here. So many accompaniments that enhance the Thai red curry and coconut milk, the spicy Kung Pao chicken or the stir-fried shrimps. Special mention to the duck spring rolls, prepared with the Peking duck sauce, and to the stir-fried squids, salt, pepper and lime sauce… A delight. A miracle of these revisited preparations, Taokan’s cuisine is never greasy. This is a guarantee and a signature of the house!
