From this protected land between sea and mountains, the brand draws remarkable organic herbal cosmetics from the Island of Beauty.
If Casanera, a Corsican organic cosmetics brand, was born in 2011, the story really began much earlier, in the childhood of its creator, Marie Ceccaldi. In her native Balagne, she inherited a precious herbarium made over three generations by a great-grandmother who was a healer and a mother pioneer of fresh cosmetics in the 70s. Since everything is treated with Corsican plant decoctions and macerates, Marie Ceccaldi launches Casanera, a line of organic herbal cosmetics “Made in Maquis”. Myrtle, immortal, lentisk, juniper and many other plants from organic farming are hand-picked and distilled on the spot, in Balagne, according to an ancestral know-how. The emulsions are whipped like whipped cream and the pots are filled manually. The precious active ingredients and their beneficial effects are thus totally preserved. 100% vegetable wax candles, all-natural soaps and diffusers with local scents, made from Corsican essential oils, harmoniously complete this moment offered by the Island of Beauty.
After 4 stores opened in Corsica and one in Aix-en-Provence, Casanera is available exclusively in Saint-Germain-des-Prés in a shop at Le Bon Marché.
